In 2016, RateSupermarket asked me to produce a video for them. RateSupermarket is a financial technology company and a subsidiary of Kanetix. It allows users to compare personal finance rates on things like bank accounts, mortgages, and RSPs. They wanted to have a video about retirement readiness, to encourage young people to research RSPs through the RateSupermarket product.
RateSupermarket had a strong idea of what they wanted to communicate. My role was to produce a video with high production values to make their concept come to life. A member of RateSupermarket's marketing team hosted the video and interviewed people about retirement readiness. As I knew this video was going to be shot on the street, I wanted two pairs of hands and hired a subcontractor to work with me during the shoot. We shot the video over the course of a few hours. I edited the video.
